Graphics cards are crucial for determining performance in gaming and demanding applications. They range from entry-level to high-end, with the latter offering the most power and the highest cost. The RTX 5090 leads this category. While released over a year ago, GIGABYTE is preparing to launch one of its most interesting models, the AORUS RTX 5090 INFINITY with dual turbines.
When NVIDIA announced the RTX 50 series, significant performance improvements were expected, but this didn’t materialize as it did with the RTX 40 vs. RTX 30 transition. This generation’s RTX 5090 isn’t drastically more powerful than the RTX 4090; it’s roughly 30% faster but consumes 30% more power. The Blackwell architecture didn’t bring massive architectural changes over Ada Lovelace at that performance level, though it did introduce new technologies and recently launched MFG x6 to further boost FPS. Among all RTX 50 series cards, the 5090 garnered the most attention, but its high price tag makes it accessible only to a few.
The GIGABYTE AORUS RTX 5090 INFINITY with Dual Turbines Has Early Specifications and is Set for a Near Launch
If you intend to purchase an RTX 5090 and have ample budget, you’d likely seek the most powerful model or one that stands out aesthetically and in terms of features. Most cards offer minor differences, such as a few extra MHz, while some premium models boast greater overclocking potential. The overclocking capabilities of this new card are unknown, but its design is certainly unique. The GIGABYTE AORUS RTX 5090 INFINITY takes inspiration from the Founders Edition design and adds exclusive enhancements.
It features two turbine-like fans that direct airflow through the entire graphics card and out the back. This is possible because the PCB is smaller and centrally located, preventing obstruction. This design allows for up to 58% more airflow compared to traditional coolers. Additionally, they’ve incorporated a third, hidden fan, concealed behind a central mesh. This is the Overdrive Fan, which activates only during high-stress situations when the graphics card requires extra cooling.
Seen at CES, It Might Be Showcased Again at the Upcoming COMPUTEX 2026
GIGABYTE has named this cooling system ‘Windforce Hyperburst,’ comprising a ‘large vapor chamber’ and ‘superconducting heat pipes.’ They also utilize liquid metal instead of thermal paste, and the memory chips are cooled with a ‘superior grade semiconducting gel.’ It employs two proprietary Hawk-design fans, features Halo RGB lighting around them, and a small strip with the INFINITY branding. It comes with a 4-year warranty.
GIGABYTE drew inspiration from ‘aerospace gondolas‘ and included an indicator light (a small white LED) to confirm proper graphics card connection. In terms of dimensions, this card is slightly more compact than others, measuring 330 mm in length, 145 mm in height, and 65 mm in width. It will achieve a Boost clock speed of 2,730 MHz. The launch is expected soon, potentially timed for COMPUTEX 2026.
