In an era where PC hardware costs are soaring, often attributed to AI demand and memory usage, CPUs have remained relatively unaffected. AMD is capitalizing on the existing CPU market, particularly for older generations, by releasing the Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary and the Ryzen 7 7700X3D. They are also not neglecting the GPU sector with the official announcement of the RX 9070 GRE.
High memory prices are causing many to delay or reconsider PC upgrades or new purchases, deeming it an unfavorable time. Most are opting to wait, with estimates suggesting that normalized memory prices won’t be seen until 2028. However, the introduction of compelling new hardware might entice some to upgrade or purchase a new PC sooner.
AMD Announces Global Launch of Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Processor (Zen 3) for $350
The PC hardware industry is facing a downturn due to elevated memory prices, leading to a significant drop in sales. Reports from China indicated a 40% decrease in motherboard and GPU sales in Q1 2026 compared to Q1 2025. AMD, which previously sold some components exclusively in China, has now decided to make them available in the United States, Europe, and globally. The first of these releases is the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, a well-established processor, now in its 10th Anniversary edition.
This processor retains the specifications of the original released in April 2022, with the only distinctions being the addition of an AMD AM4 10th Anniversary logo on the CPU box and a promotional collaboration with Carbice, offering a free Ice Pad. The Ice Pad is a carbon nanotube thermal pad that replaces traditional thermal paste, promising lifelong thermal performance without the need for reapplication as it doesn’t dry out. The 5800X3D will be available on June 25, 2026, priced at $350, maintaining its status as AMD’s fastest gaming CPU compatible with DDR4 RAM.
AMD to Also Launch Ryzen 7 7700X3D (Zen 4) for $330 and AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE for $550
In addition to the 5800X3D 10th Anniversary, AMD is releasing another potentially attractive processor: the Ryzen 7 7700X3D. Previously seen and presented as a variant of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, it shares specifications such as 96MB L3 cache, a 120W TDP, PCIe 5.0, and 8 cores. However, it operates at lower frequencies, reaching 4.5 GHz instead of 5 GHz. This new CPU will be more powerful than the 5800X3D and, interestingly, will be cheaper, though it exclusively supports DDR5 RAM. It is scheduled for release on July 16, 2026, with a price tag of $330.
Finally, AMD is introducing the Radeon RX 9070 GRE graphics card, which was previously a China-exclusive. Positioned between the RX 9060 XT and the RX 9070, it offers performance comparable to a cut-down RX 9070 rather than a full RX 9070 XT at a lower price. It features 48 Compute Units (3,072 Stream Processors), 48 RT Accelerators, 96 AI Accelerators, 96 ROPs, and 192 TMUs, resulting in performance approximately 15% shy of the RX 9070. The card is equipped with 12GB of GDDR6 memory on a 192-bit bus, runs at 2,220 MHz, and has a TDP of 220W. It is available starting June 1, 2026, for $550 and is claimed to be 22% faster than the 16GB RTX 5060 Ti.
