AMD has transitioned from being Intel’s second choice or budget alternative to being considered a superior option. This shift began with the launch of the first generation of Ryzen in 2017. In April 2022, a crucial component for their success arrived: the first X3D processor, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Despite the existence of a newer generation (Ryzen 7000), this processor outperformed them in gaming. Subsequently, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 9800X3D, and others paved the way for widespread success. Now, AMD’s Senior Director has declared that they hold the top 15 best-selling CPU positions on Amazon, with no Intel processors in sight within that range.

For those in search of a new CPU for regular gaming, Ryzen X3D processors are the optimal choice for achieving the best performance. These CPUs feature integrated 3D V-Cache, which significantly benefits video games. In fact, they surpass any Intel CPU in this specific task, even though their performance in general applications is comparable.

AMD Senior Director Showcases the Company’s Dominance in Amazon CPU Sales, Holding All Top 15 Spots

For some time now, Ryzen X3D processors have led CPU sales, as there are significantly more gamers than individuals who use their PCs primarily for productivity and require numerous cores. It’s no surprise that AMD is outselling Intel, as we’ve repeatedly seen them account for 80-90% of total sales. Now, Saša Marinković, AMD’s Senior Director, has shared an image on X illustrating AMD occupying the top 15 positions in Amazon CPU sales.

There is no trace of Intel in this list. Perhaps Intel occupied the 16th position when the image was published, but upon checking the link ourselves, we found that Intel has managed to sneak in at number 13 with their new Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, featuring 24 cores. However, in the list updated at the time of this news, no other Intel CPU appears until position 18, so the overall picture doesn’t change drastically. The top-selling product is none other than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which comes as no surprise. It’s followed by the much more affordable Ryzen 5 5500 for $84 and the 9600X for $176.

Amazon Sales in 2025 Were Similar, with AMD Holding All Top Positions

It’s noteworthy to see older processors like the Ryzen 7 5800XT in fifth position, the Ryzen 5 5600 in seventh position, and the Ryzen 9 5800XT in eighth position among the best-sellers. This is due to the current situation of high memory prices, especially for DDR5. Since the Ryzen 5000 series are Zen 3 and belong to the AM4 platform, they use DDR4, which is more cost-effective.

Comparing AMD’s CPU sales with last year’s, the list of processors is similar. The Ryzen 9800X3D continued to be the king of sales, even on Amazon France. As you can see, this 8-core processor is ideal for gaming, and despite its high price, it’s an investment that guarantees the highest FPS when paired with a good graphics card.
