Preview GTA VI: Leaked Fnac Pricing Suggests Higher Cost Than Anticipated, Premium Edition at €120

The highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI is set to launch on November 19, 2026. Fans are eagerly awaiting the game, scouring for any pre-release information. Recently, details about GTA VI, including its release date and pricing, were mistakenly leaked on Fnac’s Portuguese website. While the product titles didn’t directly match GTA VI, the confirmed release date and surprisingly high prices have generated significant buzz.

Rockstar Games released the first trailer for GTA VI in 2024, confirming a successor to the beloved GTA V after more than a decade. Initially, a Fall 2025 release was anticipated, but this was later postponed to May 2026 and finally settled on November 2026.

Fnac Accidentally Leaks GTA VI Prices, Confirming Higher Than Usual Costs

The extended wait has fueled numerous rumors and leaks concerning the game’s features, such as its map size, mission variety, the ability to enter most buildings, and realistic AI for NPCs. Discussions have also centered on GTA VI’s price, with speculation mounting that it would be more expensive than other games due to its reported $2 billion development budget. Take-Two had previously hinted at a standard $70-80 price point, but recent leaks suggest otherwise.

The Fnac leak, labeled as ‘RS1’ (presumably for a standard edition), lists a price of €89.99. This is notably higher than the typical €79.99 for new releases on PS5 and aligns with the price of premium editions for other major titles, such as a hypothetical ‘Mario Kart: World’ for Switch 2. The ‘Premium’ edition is listed at €119.99, a significant increase over standard premium versions.

Fnac Removes Pricing Information, Rockstar Games Appears to Have ‘Removed’ GTA VI Release Date

The most expensive leaked edition, priced at €199.99, is likely the ‘Collector’s’ edition. Such editions can vary greatly in price depending on included items, which might range from figures and numerous extras to art books, soundtracks, and promotional materials. Regardless, the leaks strongly suggest that GTA VI will indeed be more expensive than typical AAA games, prompting players to prepare their finances.

Last week, Rockstar Games unveiled the official game cover and announced that pre-orders would begin on June 25. The Fnac leak, occurring just days before this official date, is therefore likely indicative of the actual pricing and was an unintentional error by the retailer. Upon checking Fnac’s site now, the pricing information has been removed.

Furthermore, players have observed that the official release date for GTA VI seems to have been removed from various websites, including Rockstar’s official page. The focus has shifted to the pre-order date of June 25.
