Swedish industrial technology giant Hexagon AB has announced a major acquisition, purchasing Waygate Technologies from Baker Hughes for $1.45 billion in a cash transaction. This deal is poised to become the largest European industrial acquisition of 2026.

Waygate Technologies holds the distinction of being the global leader in non-destructive testing (NDT). The company boasts annual revenues of approximately $630 million and employs around 1,500 individuals across 25 international sites. Its advanced technological offerings encompass a range of inspection solutions, including CT scanning, radiography, ultrasonics, and remote visual inspection. These technologies are critical across various high-stakes industries, such as aerospace, among others.
